Caersws Football Club - 3.39 miles
Caersws F.C. is a football team, playing in the League of Wales. The club was founded in 1887 as Caersws Amateurs, and adopted the present name when amateur status was dropped in 1974. The team plays at the Recreation Ground, Caersws, which accommodates 4000 spectators (250 seated). Although founded in the late 19th century, the club enjoyed little if any success until the 1960s when it won the Mid-Wales League in 1959-60, 1960-61, and 1962-63, and appeared in three Welsh Amateur Cup finals, though only winning the cup in 1960-61. They won the cup (now renamed the Welsh Intermediate Cup) in 1989.

Welshpool Golf Club - Welshpool - 12.93 miles
Anyone who has ever played at Welshpool Golf Club will remember it as a great experience and a great test of golf. Most visitors come from the West Midlands and newcomers are always amazed by the breathtaking scenery found all over the course. It was designed by the veteran champion James Braid in the early part of the last century and the giant peaks of Snowdon and Cader Idris are both discernible in the wonderful vistas of mountain scenery. Fantastic offers are always available for parties of four or more. These include coffee and bacon baps for breakfast, lunch and an evening roast as well as unlimited golf.

Powis Castle - Welshpool - 14.68 miles
Most of the great Welsh castles were allowed to decay when the medieval wars ended, but Powis survives as a captivating example of a military stronghold which was preserved and renewed by continual occupation. Its fabric contains architecture of many different periods, beginning with a medieval square keep and stone hall. The most fleeting glimpse of Powis' mellow red gritstone walls tells us that this stately country house is a place rich in history.
